Nicolas Anelka, a former French striker, has given Real Madrid the upper hand in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Anelka offered his prediction for the highly anticipated Champions League game between the two European titans in an exclusive interview with MARCA. He stated, " "It's possible that it'll be an early final. Two fantastic clubs, two fantastic teams. Madrid has a slight advantage in my opinion because they have more experience and are always strong. PSG, on the other hand, has exceptional players and can also achieve a fantastic result."

The first leg of the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain is set for February 15 at the Parc des Princes. The teams will then meet again on March 9 in Madrid for the second match. In their Champions League group, Real Madrid had a comparatively easy time. In the group stage, Carlo Ancelotti's team won five of their six games. At the Santiago Bernabeu, they only lost to minnows Sheriff Tiraspol.

PSG, on the other hand, came in second place behind Premier League champions Manchester City in their group. In the group rounds, the Parisian giants only managed 11 points out of a possible 18. However, it was sufficient for them to go to the knockout stages. It's worth remembering that when the two teams meet next week, Kylian Mbappe will be at the centre of the universe. The 23-year-old forward is expected to join Los Blancos on a free transfer during the summer transfer window.

Mbappe has yet to sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 champions and is closing in on a transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid and PSG are both in first place in their respective leagues.

Real Madrid and PSG are currently leading their respective divisions in dominant ways.

The team of Carlo Ancelotti is currently six points clear at the top of the La Liga table. They have 53 points from 23 games, while Sevilla, who are in second position, has 47 points after drawing three consecutive league games.

It's worth mentioning that Los Blancos finished just two points behind city rivals Atletico Madrid in the La Liga title race last season. PSG, on the other hand, is on track to win the Ligue 1 title for the second year in a row despite losing out last season. At the moment, the Parisian giants are 13 points ahead of Olympique Marseille in second place. Mauricio Pochettino's team has only lost one league game this season, amassing 56 points from 23 games.
